Soviet Army Enlisted Man / NCO Ushanka Fur Hat with Hat Badge, 1980s issue.
This is GUARANTEED 100% ORIGINAL hat badge made in the Soviet Union for the Soviet Military – NOT a replica, post-Soviet
issue, civilian item, or a souvenir.
The hat is in a gray wool pile with a cotton liner. Comes with a correct Soviet Army EM hat badge of 1970s-80s vintage. The liner shows the Soviet-period logo of the Fur Goods Factory in the city of Bobruisk, Belorussia, with the year of manufacture. Marked Size 58 (Large, will fit a US size 7 ¼ head).
If you are buying one to wear and not just to add to your collection, but need a larger size: with determined stretching (perhaps over a block of wood or using an actual hat stretching device - such gizmos do exist) plus a lot of daily wear these surplus ushankas may expand by at least a size or two (i.e. to a Russian size 59 / 60). Some of our customers also reported effectively using a soccer ball for the same purpose.
Excellent, unissued condition; the fur shows only storage age but no moth bites or mildew problems.
