The firmware has been updated on the device.
I tested it with the bluetooth app and it works, however I noticed I was unable to turn it on from the app.  Once I turned it off from the app I could only turn it back on from the device but once it was on I could use all the functions from the app until I turned it off.  I used an iphone for the testing.  Not sure if that is by design or if it's a flaw.  I did read some reviews about people having issues with the app.
NOTE - please read all details carefully to be sure you are purchasing with the knowledge that the bluetooth app does not function 100% in the way you think it intuitively should because during my testing it was somewhat glitchy.  Sometimes working, sometimes not and I had to close the app several times and restart it as it seem to freeze up at times.
