ESP8266 is a highly integrated chip designed for the needs of a new connected world. It offers a complete and self-contained Wi-Fi networking solution, allowing it to either host the application or to offload all Wi-Fi networking functions from another application processor.
ESP8266 has powerful on-board processing and storage capabilities that allow it to be integrated with the sensors and other application specific devices through its GPIOs with minimal development up-front and minimal loading during runtime. Its high degree of on-chip integration allows for minimal external circuitry, and the entire solution, including front-end module, is designed to occupy minimal PCB area.

6. ESP-06: Bottom paste Technology, all IO leads, with metal shell, easily to get through FCC CE certification.
7. ESP-07: Half-hole paste technology, all IO leads, with metal shell, easily to get through FCC CE certification. Can external connect with an IPX antenna, or built-in a ceramic antenna.
8. ESP-08: Almost same as ESP-07, the big difference is that the user can define in the form of the antenna by themselves.
9. ESP-09: Ultra small Size, only 10*10 mm, four layers plating technology.
10. ESP-10: SMD interfaces, narrow body design, 10 mm width and suitable for the controller of led lights.
11. ESP-11: SMD interfaces, ceramic antennas, and small size.
